Sony Mobile has already confirmed the upcoming availability of its new Xperia Z smartphone in a variety of markets around the world, including Japan, where it will hit shelves at wireless carrier NTT DoCoMo, it seems.

The handset has already been spotted at large with this operator’s logo on the front, which confirms that it will add it to its offering. No official info on when the smartphone will be put up for sale in Japan has emerged so far, but rumor has it that it might be officially launched on January 22.

Xperia Z SO-02E for this carrier will sport the same specs as the international flavor (L36h), but will include support for NTT DoCoMo’s Xi LTE service.

The handset packs a 5-inch 1080p screen, quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera on the back, front camera for video chatting, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on top.
