Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has been long rumored to plan the launch of new high-end Android smartphones this year, in addition to the flagship Xperia Z, and some more info on one of them has emerged.

Featuring the codename of Dogo and model number Sony PM-0320-BV, the handset has received the necessary approvals for landing in Japan on the network of NTT DoCoMo, where it should land as Xperia SO-04E.

According to Blog of Mobile, the smartphone should be launched sometime in the middle of the year, and will feature Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n connectivity, Bluetooth capabilities, and support for the carrier’s LTE network.

Support for W-CDMA / GSM frequencies will also be included inside the handset, it seems. However, official confirmation on this has yet to emerge, so stay tuned.
