Japanese wireless carrier NTT DoCoMo, one of the largest Tizen partners, is reportedly unhappy with the delay of a Samsung smartphone running under the platform and is pressuring the vendor to release such a device as soon as possible.

According to the latest reports on the matter, the carrier is asking Samsung to launch a Tizen smartphone as early as January 2014, SamMobile reports.

Recently, the South Korean vendor was said to plan the launch of such a handset in the beginning of the next year, but no specific info on the matter has been provided as of now.

Samsung was expected to launch its first Tizen OS-based smartphone several months ago, but the company delayed it without offering an explanation.

However, the launch of Tizen OS 3.0, along with pressure from partners, might determine the company to speed up the development process.
