Verizon Wireless, the largest mobile phone carrier in the United States, is expected to launch multiple Windows Phone 8 devices before the end of this year.

The wireless operator has already confirmed that, but it hasn’t offered specific details on the handsets that would be released.

However, Verizon Chief Marketing Officer Tami Erwin told CNET that the carrier is planning on launching Nokia devices as well, without providing a specific timeframe for when we’d see such handsets launched.

We have already learned that a certain Nokia Lumia 822 smartphone could hit Big Red’s shelves in the near future, yet it seems that other devices will join it as well.

The availability of Windows Phone 8 devices on Verizon will certainly help the platform, which is currently struggling to gain some market share both in the United States and globally.
