The folks over at Venetasoft were among the first developers to launch an application that would allow Windows Phone 8.1 early adopters to edit and trim their videos.

Dubbed Movie Maker, the application doesn't come for free, but until May 1, it was the only video editor in the Windows Phone Store that was fully compatible with Microsoft's Windows Phone 8.1.

However, on May 1, Microsoft launched its own video editor application for Windows Phone 8.1, which is called Movie Moments.

Anyway, those who have bought Movie Maker will be pleased to know that the application has just received an update that brings important new features and improvements.

The most important seems to be the ability to save/restore a movie project while on the go. In addition, the developers have added a new option that allows users to share their videos with Facebook and other applications that support Windows Phone 8.1 share contact.

Last but not least, the folks over at Venetasoft claim that Movie Maker now features a new UI with precision timeline and Modern media controls.

You can now download Movie Maker for Windows Phone 8.1 for $1.49 via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that this application is only compatible with devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 and up.
