Moto X, the latest Android-based smartphone from Motorola, has been available on shelves in the United States for a few weeks now, and Motorola says it has managed to ramp up production of the device as planned.

Speaking to Reuters, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside said that the company’s Texas-based manufacturing plant where the device is assembled had reached a shipping volume of 100,000 units each week.

He also explained that the facility could build even more phones if necessary, but that production is adjusted in accordance with the demand.

For the time being, however, no specific info on the Moto X sales numbers has been provided, but he did say that orders were substantial.

At the moment, the device is being sold only in the US, Canada, and Latin America, and no specific details on its availability in Asia and Europe has been provided.
