Mobile phone maker Motorola has made available for download a new version of its Touchless Control application, further expanding the features and capabilities that users can take advantage of.

One of the most important additions to the software is a new "What's Up" voice command (or "Read Notifications"), which was designed to trigger the reading of new notifications aloud.

According to the company, the new enhancement was included in the application so as to ensure that users never miss important alerts.

Furthermore, the company notes that the new "What's Up" / "Read Notifications" functionality was fully launched for U.S. English, Spanish, and Italian speakers, and that it is available only in a beta version for other languages / regions.

The release notes for the new app iteration also mention that the new feature is compatible only with smartphones running under Android 4.4 KitKat or newer, which means that only Moto X users can enjoy it at the moment.

Additionally, the new version of Touchless Control arrives on smartphones with enhanced end-of-speech detection, which should result in improved accuracy and faster responses. Various bug fixes were also included in the new application release.

You can find Motorola’s Touchless Control in the Google Play store. The app should work on Verizon DROID Mini, Ultra, and MAXX handsets, in addition to the aforementioned Moto X.
