Good news for Android fans who decided to go for Motorola Moto X “Pure Edition,” as the US-based handset maker has just released Android 5.1 Lollipop update for this particular smartphone.

Shortly after US Cellular announced that Android 5.1 is available for its Moto X (2nd Gen) and Moto E LTE, another Motorola smartphone gets the same treatment. This means that others will follow very soon.

As Droid-Life points out, Android 5.1 Lollipop is now rolling out to Motorola Moto X “Pure Edition” in Brazil, but the update will be available in the United States as well.

If you have yet to be notified on the update, you can manually check for it by going to Settings / About phone / Software update.

Keep in mind that Android 5.1 Lollipop brings quite a few improvements and new features, including better control over notification, and device protection, which should keep your phone locked even if stolen and reset to factory settings.

Lots of other performance improvements and bug fixes have been implemented as well, such as the issue with Wi-Fi not connecting after being idle all night or other Wi-Fi connection issues with multiple routers in one location.

The update should also reduce noise in low-light shots and should also improve responsiveness of the viewfinder with the front-facing camera when taking selfies.
