Motorola is one of the first companies that managed to update some of their smartphones to Android 5.0 Lollipop. However, the rollout of Lollipop for Motorola smartphones is far from being finished.

The handset maker still has to deliver the update to some smartphones, especially to those carrier-branded. It's common knowledge that network operators tend to delay major updates for whatever reasons.

US-based carriers never release a major update before it becomes available to unlocked versions. And AT&T is here to confirmed this, as the carrier has just started the rollout of the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Motorola Moto X (2nd Generation).

The information has been confirmed by Motorola's Senior Director David Schuster. According to him, Motorola has just started to seed Lollipop for Moto X (2nd Gen), which means that it will take a few days until it reaches all devices.

The official release notes for Android 5.0.2 Lollipop for Moto X (2nd Gen) include many improvements such as Material Design, Notification UI and priorities enhancements, Moto Display and Ambient Display, Moto Assist and Downtime, Flashlight and many more.

Before downloading the update, make sure that your phone's battery is at least 50% charged and that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you haven't been notified on Lollipop yet, you can manually check for it by heading to Settings, About phone, System updates.
