Good news for Moto G owners in Canada, as Motorola has just kicked off the rollout of the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, namely Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Even though it doesn’t bring any new features into the mix, Android 4.4.4 KitKat is a very important update which includes lots of bug fixes and tweaks, as well as minor improvements.

The update is also meant to fix some issues introduced in the previous versions of the platform, so we recommend Moto G owners to upgrade to Android 4.4.4 KitKat as soon as the update becomes available.

Speaking of which, MobileSyrup reports Motorola has pushed the update to unlocked Moto G units, as well as carrier-branded devices purchased via Koodo, Public Mobile, Virgin Mobile, WIND Mobile, TELUS and Videotron.

Among the most important changes and improvements included in the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for Moto G would be a security patch for the OpenSSL vulnerability, better camera performance, and support for Motorola Alert.

The update also brings enhanced power management and a brand new dialer app. Moto G owners who have yet to be notified on the update can manually check for it by going to Settings / About phone / Software update.
