Mobile phone maker Motorola is currently getting ready for the release of a new software update to the owners of the latest DROID smartphones on Verizon’s network.

In collaboration with the wireless operator, the company is kicking off a soak test for these devices, and it has already sent out invitations to the owners of the Motorola Feedback Network to participate in it.

The soak test is meant for the Verizon Motorola DROID Ultra, DROID Mini, and DROID Maxx handsets, and users might receive Android 4.4 KitKat on them.

Unfortunately, no official confirmation on the update has been provided as of now, and it might result in the availability of a completely different software release in the end, as AndroidCentral notes.

However, the test builds should arrive in a matter of days, and additional info might emerge at that time, so stay tuned.
