Good news for Motorola Moto G LTE owners at Rogers, as the carrier has just confirmed that the next major update, Android 5.1 Lollipop, for this particular smartphone will be available next month.

The Canadian carrier has just refreshed its OS software upgrades list and the Moto G LTE is confirmed for an Android 5.1 Lollipop update sometime in June.

This does make sense since Motorola announced a while ago that it would skip Android 5.0 Lollipop for several smartphones, including Verizon DROID Turbo, which will be upgraded directly to Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Since Rogers usually doesn't mention exactly when the update will be available for download, you should stay tuned for more info on the matter.

Android 5.1 Lollipop is expected to bring some important new features and improvements, including Device Protection, a new security option which will prevent someone from unlocking your phone if it's stolen or lost.

In addition, the smartphone should bring some subtle visual changes and tweaks, as well as a Flashlight function which will be accessible from the Quick Settings menu.

Last but not least, new animations and icons will be included in the update, some will be replaced, while others will be added.
