Bad news for Motorola fans who are looking to pick the 16GB Moto G smartphone in Australia, as the handset maker has removed any trace of having the device up to sale.

The folks over at AusDroid report that the Motorola has just removed the 16GB Moto G storage options from the Australian webstore, so customers can only purchase the 8GB variant.

Keep in mind that Motorola has introduced the dual-SIM version of Moto G in Australia, so those who want to grab the 8GB model will also benefit from this feature.

Unfortunately, 8GB of storage is kind of low for an Android smartphone, though Google and Motorola also offer 50GB of free cloud storage for two years via Google Drive. If cloud storage is not your thing, you can always switch to a new brand.

Motorola Moto G 16GB was available in limited stock over the last couple of months. The US-based company offered no details on the reasons behind its decision to remove the 16GB Moto G from the Australian website, but we suspect stock shortage is to blame.

Those who are determined to pick the Moto G regardless of the amount of storage it provides must come up with only $243 (€165) upfront.
