The handset vendor is considering an alternate solution for its users

Mobile phone maker Motorola has confirmed that the upcoming ATRIX HD smartphone would land on shelves with a locked bootloader, to comply with requirements.

However, the company also confirmed that, the same as with other devices it released on shelves lately, the goal is to provide users with the possibility to easily unlock the ATRIX HD.

Through locking and signing the bootloader on the new device, Motorola is limiting the possibilities users have when it comes to loading custom, unofficial ROMs on their devices.

However, there’s still hope, as Motorola said in another tweet that “our goal is still to provide a way to unlock the bootloaders on our devices to those who wish to do so, more details to come.”

Hopefully, an unlock method for the handset will be released soon after the official launch at AT&T, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
