It’s unclear whether this is a wider roll-out or not

You might remember that last month, Android 5.0.2 appeared out of the blue, being made available only for the Nexus 7 (2012).

None of the other Nexus devices received it, but there might still be hope that other phones/tablets will get it. Phandroid now reports the second-gen Moto G is currently receiving the Lollipop OTA update in the US.

Since the update hasn't been pushed to all that many devices and Google is quite silent about what the 5.0.2 version brings about, we don’t know the entire slew of modifications the new build offers. It seems to be pretty minor, nevertheless.

The Moto G has been previously running on Android 5.0.1 and has now been bumped up to version 22.21.28 with Android 5.0.2 on top.

The roll out of Android 5.0.2 does seem to be a very slow one, so at the moment we can’t actually tell you whether the devices that have been bumped up are part of a larger roll-out or not.

As we have been reporting earlier, a slew of Motorola devices from 2014 and 2013 have been confirmed to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update “very soon.” We’re not given a specific date, but we can only hope this translates into in the upcoming weeks.
