The application has been updated on all mobile platforms

Xbox One owners will be pleased to know that Microsoft has just updated the companion application for its next-generation console, SmartGlass.

Even better, the update contains lots of new features and improvements, which are based on the feedback received from Xbox One SmartGlass beta users.

But first things first. One of the major changes included in the update is the ability to see TV and app channels in one place with the OneGuide. Moreover, users can now control their cable or satellite box and TV with a new universal remote control.

The Home pane has been redesigned to offer more simplicity, and a new app menu has been added to enables users to navigate more easily.

With the latest version of Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone, users will be able to compare achievements, see new leaderboards on game and details pages, as well as reorder their pins.

The update also brings a special filter for saved game clips and the option to manage the types of notifications you can receive from the Settings menu.

It's also worth mentioning that in the last version of the application, game clips watched on SmartGlass now count toward total views. Last but not least, lots of general stability and polish improvements have been included as well, along with bug fixes.

You can now download Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone 1.0.4.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
