Nokia Lumia 930 owners will be happy to know that Microsoft has finally identified the root cause of an annoying issue with their smartphones that would make this particular model exhibit purple discoloration.
The issue has been affecting Lumia 930 units since launch, but Microsoft has started to work on a fix recently. The information has been confirmed by Microsoft through Nokia Care, so those being affected by this color calibration problem need not worry, as someone is looking into the problem right now.
Unfortunately, there’s no telling when this display issue will be addressed by Microsoft, though we expect it to be fixed via firmware update.
According to Microsoft, only a limited number of Lumia 930 units are exhibiting purple discolorations, which is due to the performance of the display in certain brightness conditions. This means that the issue may only manifest in certain conditions, not necessarily all the time.
Nevertheless, Microsoft has announced that “we've identified the root cause & are currently working on a software update that will deliver improvements.” Hopefully, this will happen sooner rather than later.
We will keep an eye out for any additional details on the matter, so stay tuned for more info on Nokia Lumia 930 purple discoloration issue.
