It looks like Microsoft plans to launch native Office applications for Android and iOS platforms next year. According to Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek, the application will be launched in March 2013.

Although rumors on Microsoft working on Office for iPad surfaced a long time ago, the Redmond-based company has been mum on this until today.

TheVerge also claims they’ve seen a press release confirming the native Office application will be launched on multiple platforms, “In addition to Windows, Office will be also available on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian.”

In the same piece of news, the press released also mentions Office 2013 will be released for businesses in December, while consumers will get it in late February, “Office 365 services and other Office products for mobile (phones and tablets) will be released from March 2013.”
