Indian device manufacturer Micromax has joined forces with custom ROM maker Cyanogen for an exclusive partnership in India.

In this configuration, Micromax and its YU subsidiary already launched the Yureka smartphone, which arrives with CyanogenMod 11 pre-installed (based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat).

In a recent interview with BGR, Yu co-founder Rahul Sharma revealed that the success of Yureka prompted the company to already start making plans for the future.

According to Sharma, the device maker is already working towards what’s being touted as the “Project Caesar” handset.

The phone is expected to arrive with CyanogenMod 12 which is based on Google’s current iteration, Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Sadly, Sharma didn’t say anything else about the handset, concerning specifications or anything else for that matter. Except that we should expect it to launch in April.

Looking back at the original Yureka phone, we see a mid-range device offered with a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution and running on the force of a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 615 chip working in concert with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The handset has dual-SIM and LTE capabilities and sells for under $150 / €117. We currently don’t know whether Project Caesar will follow the same pattern, but its codename makes us think of something fancier.
