Indian device maker Micromax has been long promising the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its YU Yureka smartphone, which launched back in January with CyanogenMod 11S - based on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system.

Even if a previous teaser said that the phone would receive Lollipop treatment on March 26, the date came and went and nothing happened.

Fast forward a few weeks, Micromax is finally ready to unleash the OTA update for owners of the phone. The rollout happens in phases over the next three days, so some of you might get it sooner than others.

The incoming Android 5.0.2 OTA update is based on Cyanogen OS 12 and adds extra theming support, improves mail with CyanogenMail and Exchange support. There’s also the multiple account integration.

The YU Yureka was the first 64-bit CyanogenMod-based smartphone to arrive in the wild, and it was launched a few months ago. The handset sports a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution. Under the hood, Micromax has implemented a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 615 processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The phone also has LTE, and like many handsets offered in India, it takes advantage of dual-SIM capabilities.
