Good news for the millions of people who purchased one of the most popular Android smartphones in China, the MX4, as Meizu has just confirmed that it’s working to tweak Lollipop for its flagship smartphone.

Meizu MX4 is one of the reasons the Chinese OEMs is among the most prolific smartphone manufacturers in China, the world’s largest mobile phone market.

The smartphone ships with a proprietary UI called Flyme 4.0, as well as with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system. GizChina reports that the company’s Chief Designer, Yang Yan, has revealed on Weibo that his team is now working on an Android 5.0 Lollipop build for one or more products in order to boost the phone’s sales even further.

Even though Yan has not actually named the MX4 as the target for this Android 5.0 Lollipop build they are currently working on, we can safely assume that this will be one of the first Meizu smartphones to receive the update.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling how long it will take Meizu’s engineers to tweak Android 5.0 Lollipop for the MX4, though we suspect it shouldn’t take too long.

If you happen to own the Meizu MX4, then stay tuned for more updates on the matter, as we expect more info to leak in the coming weeks.
