Nokia fans rejoice, as the company's Stephen Elop has just confirmed that BlackBerry Messenger will be available on Lumia smartphones soon.

BBM has been recently released on both Android and iOS platforms and rumors on its launch on Windows Phone operating system emerged a few months ago.

However, BlackBerry has never confirmed that it will bring its instant messaging service on Windows Phone platform and has yet to come forward with an official statement.

It's unclear when exactly BBM will arrive on Lumia smartphones, but we suspect that more details will be offered in the coming weeks.

Although Elop has stated that BBM will be available on Nokia Lumia smartphones, we expect that the application will come on other Windows Phone handsets as well. We will keep an eye out for any additional details on the matter, so stay tuned.
