Mozilla came to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year with its new Firefox OS platform loaded on upcoming devices, and Softpedia’s editors have had the chance to take a closer look at it, to learn more on what it has to offer.

We have already learned that the Firefox OS will come to the market this year on Alcatel’s One Touch Fire and on ZTE’s Open, two entry-level handsets that, apparently, don’t need higher–end hardware to run the platform.

As you can see in the video above, the new OS runs pretty smoothly on ZTE Open, already offering some of the basic features that users are seeking inside today’s smartphones, such as Facebook integration, contacts, browser, apps, FM Radio, YouTube, and the like.

The best part of Firefox OS is that it sports HTML5 apps, which are smaller than usual apps, run faster, and can be found over the web as well, not only in the Firefox Marketplace.
