Many of the 5-inch smartphones that were unveiled this year were aimed at the high end of the market, but it seems that Alcatel is planning on providing more people with the benefits of a large screen in their hands, with the One Touch Scribe Easy seemingly meant exactly for that.

The phone sports a WVGA display, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor inside, 512MB of RAM and 2.4GB of user memory inside (and a microSD card slot), which will make it a great option for those looking for a fancy smartphone that doesn’t cost that much.

Better still, the One Touch Scribe Easy runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform, and features a 5-inch camera on the back, paired with a front camera to enable video calling while on the go.

There’s also a touch pen to enjoy with the device, along with handwriting recognition capabilities, a 2,500 mAh battery, and the option of having two SIM cards inside the phone.
