Mobile phone users in Australia looking forward to the purchase of a Nokia Lumia 930 smartphone on the network of wireless carrier Telstra will have to wait a bit longer before being able to make the move, it seems.

The wireless services provider has announced that the phone’s release on its network has been delayed due to a change in hardware, but has not provided further details on the matter.

The Windows Phone 8.1-based handset was set to arrive on shelves at the operator on July 15, but it has been pushed to a later, unspecified date.

“There was a minor hardware update made after we tested and approved the Lumia 930 that we were only recently made aware of,” the wireless carrier has announced, a recent article on WPCentral reads.

“This has meant that we have needed to re-test the device to check it meets our performance benchmarks before putting it in the hands of our customers. The testing is currently underway and we promise to complete this as quickly as possible.”

For those out of the loop, we should note that Nokia Lumia 930 has already arrived on shelves in Australia, via Optus, and that it is also expected to be released at Vodafone today.

Hopefully, Telstra will provide some additional info on its plans for the mobile phone in the not-too-distant future, so keep an eye on this space to learn more on the matter.
