The world of concept phones is a wondrous realm where the imagination of designers can run loose, and thus, some devices get a face way before the official announcement has a chance to happen.

On the other hand, designers can imagine purely speculative handsets. Like the Lumia 888 we’re going to talk about in this post.

Since Samsung launched the first “edged” phone, the Galaxy Note Edge, consumers’ interest in phones devoid of bezels has skyrocketed. That’s why Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 Edge and is considering putting out another “edge” model before the arrival of the Galaxy Note 5.

Which brings us to the Lumia 888 concept. If you have ever wondered what a Windows edge-to-edge display phone might look like, the Lumia 888 is the answer.

As you can see in the images below, the looks of this phone are highly atypical. For starters, there’s a see-through home button placed upfront, a Carl Zeiss camera with dual LED flash, and a side sensor that allows interactions via swipe.

But the most appealing feature must be the neon light around the edges, which will change depending on the battery levels. The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is capable of doing something similar, but its lights are used to signal various notifications.

Sadly, the concept designer doesn’t say anything about specifications, so it’s up to the beholder to imagine what the phone could pack on the inside.
