There have been lots of rumors in the past concerning a possible Windows Phone handset coming from Lenovo, but we are yet to see the Chinese company roll out any devices powered by Microsoft’s mobile platform.

However, this is about to change this year, as Microsoft confirmed a few days ago that Lenovo would finally launch its first Windows Phone device this year.

We weren't given a lot of details about the product then, but today a report coming out of GSM Insider claims that Lenovo’s first Windows Phone should arrive this summer, priced below $161 / €150.

The phone will be launched exclusively under China Mobile’s banner. Other info regarding specifications aren't available for the time being, but given the low price of the device, we expect the handset to bundle average specs.

Although we don’t have many details about the new phones, we can only hope that Lenovo will market them outside the borders of China, at least at some point in the future.

Lenovo is not the only Chinese company collaborating with Microsoft. Xiaomi has also set up an experiment with the Redmond-based company to port Windows 10 on the Mi 4 handset. We’re living exciting times!
