Chinese company Lenovo confirmed a while ago that it would release Android 5.0 Lollipop for some of its smartphones in India. True to its promise, the handset maker delivered the first Lollipop update for the Vibe X2.

According to a new report, Android 5.0 Lollipop is now available for download in India for those who own the Lenovo Vibe X2. The update is pushed OTA (over the air) in waves, so it might take a while until it reaches all devices.

The official changelog mentions that the update is about 1.1GB in size, so make sure you have enough free storage left on your smartphone.

Although the update should not erase anything from your smartphone, it's recommended to back up important information to avoid data loss due to update failure.

Moving on to improvements, Android 5.0 Lollipop will bring Lenovo Vibe X2 owners Google's new Material Design, as well as enhancements to notification system.

The update should also bring some new and improved security features, including Smart Lock. Also, new battery save feature, improved performance via ART, as well as new languages and enhanced network features have been added as well.

If you managed to capture the update, please let us know how your Lenovo Vibe X2 is performing after upgrading to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
