Google is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new flavor of its mobile operating system, supposedly set to arrive on devices as Android 4.2 with a nice range of enhancements packed inside.

In fact, the guys over at Android and Me even posted a long list of such new features, all based on info coming from a trusted source, but all now proved to have been fake. Even Google's Dan Morill “LOL”-ed at the rumor.

While the upcoming availability of this new Android version is still on the table, we currently have no specific info on what it might actually include in terms of performance improvements and new features.

The new OS has already been spotted on Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 and two new Motorola devices, the Occam and Manta, and might become official in the next several weeks.

Moreover, the OS is expected to power a new Nexus handset, one coming from LG this time (in fact, it might actually be loaded on more such phones).
