Customers can upgrade their devices at any Lava service center

Following the recent rollout of Jelly Bean update for Micromax A110 Canvas 2, another Indian company decided to offer its customers a similar treatment.

According to fonearena, Lava Mobile has just announced that an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade is now available for the Iris 501.

Lava Iris 510 was launched back in January with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box and we thought the device would remain stuck on this version.

Luckily, Lava thought it would be better to offer an upgrade to Jelly Bean. Those who own the Iris 501 and wish to update it to Android 4.1 will have to visit the nearest Lava service center.

The fact that the upgrade is not pushed OTA (over the air) should be a minor drawback for Lava smartphone users, as Indian companies rarely offer such major updates.
