The handset packs a dual-core processor, 5MP camera

Mobile phone maker Lava has made official a new smartphone in India, namely the Lava Iris 455, a low- to mid-level smartphone that packs a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, a 1GHz dual-core processor and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.

The new mobile phone will arrive on shelves with 512MB of RAM inside, 4GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, and a 1500 mAh battery, as Fonearena notes.

Furthermore, it will sport a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, front camera for making video calls, 3G (HSDPA 7.2Mbps; HSUPA: 5.76 Mbps), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, aGPS, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves early next week, yet no specific info on its pricing has been provided as of now.
