Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless might soon add to its lineup a new Android-based LG smartphone, one that would sport a low price tag, being aimed at budget-conscious customers.

The handset has been spotted at the Federal Communications Commission as LG VS870, featuring support for Verizon’s CDMA network, as well as LTE connectivity.

According to Engadget, the phone’s model number matches that of AT&T’s LG Escape, which was released as P870, and might prove to be Verizon’s version of this device.

Additionally, the handset made an appearance at the Wireless Power Consortium, suggesting that it might land on shelves with wireless charging capabilities packed inside.

For the time being, however, no official info on the new device was made available, nor on the changes that it might sport when compared to the already available smartphone at AT&T.
