South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has already confirmed plans to return to the Windows Phone party, and the first new device that the company might launch with Microsoft’s mobile operating system loaded on top has made an appearance online today.

The handset goes by the name of LG Uni8 at the moment, at least this is what infamous tipster @evleaks, that has also leaked a press photo with the smartphone, suggests.

The mobile phone appears to be running under the Windows Phone 8.1 platform, judging by the lack of hardware buttons on the front.

Microsoft has been said to have removed some of the chassis requirements for new smartphones running Windows Phone, and the change related to said buttons is one of them.

The LG Uni8 looks quite appealing, though it appears to lack a dedicated camera button, which might prove an issue for some enthusiasts out there.

No specific info on the handset’s arrival has been provided as of now, but rumor has it that it would be released before the end of this year.

Details on the smartphone’s hardware specifications are missing as well, though we should see it featuring capabilities in line with those of other Windows Phone devices available today. Stay tuned for more on this.
