South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has been long rumored to plan the launch of a successor for the LG G2 flagship device in the coming months, and confirmation on the handset’s name has already emerged online.

The company has trademarked the G3 name not long ago in the mobile phones category at USPTO, which confirms previous reports on the matter.

Of course, no specific details on the device have been provided as of now, but previous rumors did suggest that the phone would land on shelves with a 2k screen and a bumped-up camera on the back (possibly a 16MP one).

The handset is also expected to pack a home-grown processor inside, along with other enhanced hardware inside, a recent report on Phandroid also notes. LG G3 is expected to become official in May or June this year.
