Wireless carrier Cricket is reportedly getting ready to launch a new LG smartphone on its network, one that might pack 4G LTE connectivity capabilities when released, namely the LG Optimus Regard.

The handset has been spotted online with the model number LG LW770 attached to it, and with specs that include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, along with 712MB of RAM.

Rumor has is that the new device will also sport a 3.5-inch touchscreen display when released, along with 5GB of internal memory, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

Running under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the new device should prove a rather affordable handset, although it is expected to include 4G LTE connectivity when released.

This should be the first LTE-enabled device at the wireless carrier, a CricketUser forum post reads.
