LG’s 5.5-inch Optimus G Pro smartphone has already been made official in South Korea, the mobile phone maker’s homeland market, but it won’t arrive in other countries around the world for the next few months, it seems.

The handset vendor confirmed plans to launch the device in North America starting with the second quarter of the year, when Japan will receive it too, SlashGear reports.

Featuring a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, full HD screen, a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, front camera, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top, the device is expected to appeal to a lot of users out there.

However, the handset’s predecessor, dubbed Optimus G, did not manage to impress as much, despite its high-end features, and sold one million units in roughly three months after release.
