Nokia and Microsoft kicked off the rollout of the long-awaited Windows Phone 7.8 update for older smartphones earlier this month, but the deployment was halted a few weeks ago due to some issue found in the build.

A while ago, the rollout of the update was resumed in all countries and while there are still plenty of Windows Phone 7.5 devices that have yet to receive this upgrade, Nokia and Microsoft are doing everything they can to make it available to as many smartphones as possible.

Thus, MobileSyrup reports that the LG Optimus 7 is now receiving the Windows Phone 7.8 update at Canadian carrier TELUS.

Obviously, in order to upgrade to Windows Phone 7.8, LG Optimus 7 owners will need to connect their phone to PC via Zune desktop software. Software update 7.10.8862.144 will bring important new features and improvements, as well as visual changes.
