The update is pushed OTA (over the air), in stages

The budget-friendly LG MyTouch and MyTouch Q smartphones are about to receive a minor update via T-Mobile USA.

Both handsets are still stuck on Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and will probably remain on this version until they reach EOL (end of life) status.

According to T-Mobile, both updates are pushed OTA (over the air) between February 11 and February 26. This means that not all MyTouch and MyTouch Q owners will receive the update at the same time.

Software version LGC800-V10x and V10u bring “security enhancements” for both handsets, and nothing else. Each update has around 2MB in size, which means it will only take a few minutes to download and install it.

We expect T-Mobile USA to retire the LG MyTouch and MyTouch Q pretty soon, so those who still own these devices might want to take into consideration an upgrade to a newer handset.
