Owners of LG G3 smartphones in Europe should be receiving their first software update in the not too distant future, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Apparently, the South Korean mobile phone maker has already started to deploy a new firmware to the smartphone, which means that users on the old continent will get a taste of it in the coming days.

The new software, available for download as build number 10e, appears to be bringing along a series of performance enhancements, though no specific details on the matter have been provided as of now.

Moreover, the guys over at Android Central claim that no visible changes have been brought to the phone and that the handset is still running under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system following the update.

The new firmware release is being delivered to users over-the-air, though they will also find it up for download online, courtesy of XDA-Developers. If you choose to go this route, however, keep in mind that this is not an official release channel for new updates.

To check on the availability of software version 10e, users should head over to Settings > About phone > Update Center. Should the update appear as available, they will be able to download and install it immediately.
