The FCC has just approved two new LG smartphones, featuring model numbers D850 and D851, and supposedly set to land on the market as two different flavors of the yet unannounced LG G3 flagship.

The LG D850 has received the necessary approvals with support for LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, and 17, while the LG D851 comes with LTE bands 2, 4, 7, and 17 connectivity packed inside.

Both of the two devices have been approved with removable batteries packed inside, as well as with bodies that measure 5.76 inches (146.3 mm) tall and 2.94 inches (74.6 mm) wide, which suggests that they should be released as different versions of the same handset, as PhoneArena notes.

Moreover, the LG D850 was spotted back in March with a touchscreen display capable of delivering a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixel) resolution, which falls nicely in line with the info available on the LG G3 at the moment.

Chances are that each of the two is designed to arrive at a different wireless carrier in the United States, though an official confirmation on this has yet to be provided.

Hopefully, more on the matter will become available in the near future, so keep an eye on this space for additional details.
