The first rumors on the possible release of the LG G2 mini at Sprint date from March. Unfortunately, aside from the codename, no other details on the phone’s availability emerged at that time.

Today, @UpLeaks revealed that the smartphone previously known as G2 mini would finally arrive at Sprint, but under a different name, LG G3 Vigor.

The difference is huge and indicates that the handset may be closer to the G3 lineup than the old G2 series. However, this does make sense, considering that the device is launching right after LG’s new flagship smartphone, the G3.

There is no info on the LG G3 Vigor’s specs sheet, but if it proves to have the same hardware configuration as the G2 mini then it should come with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory.

The smartphone should also sport a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The G2 mini also packs an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls. Stay tuned for more updates on the LG G3 Vigor arrival at Sprint.

Update: Apparently the LG G3 Vigor is Sprint's version of LG G3 Mini, so the smartphone should have a slightly different hardware specification. Stay tuned for more on this one.
