Mobile phone carrier Sprint has just announced the availability of a new software update for its Kyocera Echo users.

The new firmware release brings along a series of bug fixes and enhancements, and is currently rolling out to devices as software 2.006sp.

The new update packs changes to roaming guard display, along with a series of security enhancements.

Moreover, the new device firmware fixes an issue with the MMS audio cutting off after 8 seconds and brings along activation of Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS).

Kyocera Echo owners should keep in mind that the new update will be delivered to them in stages, which means that it won’t appear on all devices from the start.
