Samsung has already replaced the malformed unit

A few days ago, we brought you the story of a Nexus 6 user who shared some unsettling news on Twitter. Apparently, her Nexus 6 unit ended up exploding for no apparent good reason, although no fire ensued.

Everything happened while the phone was lying unused and untouched. It wasn’t charging either. The owner took the opportunity to post some images showing the Nexus 6 with an extremely swollen battery.

Well, this week brings us a very similar story. A Korean Samsung Galaxy S6 owner posted a bunch of photos showing the very same scenario, only with a different phone (as seen at Oddi Dragon).

Apparently, in this case, the device arrived with a big gap between its frame and the glass back, and another one on the front as well.

The user contacted Samsung immediately and the company didn’t cringe in providing a replacement for the unit. We haven’t heard any similar reports concerning the Galaxy S6, but as we have told you above, swelling battery stories are a pretty common occurrence lately.

Anyway, we certainly hope Samsung has made sure that things like this won’t happen again, because using a phone with a damaged battery is extremely dangerous.

Earlier today, we also reported that some Galaxy S6 units were plagued by purple dots showing in images taken with the selfie camera of the handset. Samsung’s new flagships seem to be quite problematic.
