Amazon has just updated its Kindle application for Android devices. The e-reader that allows users to read books on their phones received a bug fix and a few new features.

According to Amazon, the latest update addresses a critical bug where the app would not open on certain devices.

Although it’s unclear which devices are plagued by this issue, as soon as the update is installed it should fix the problem for all users.

Furthermore, Amazon also included new features, such as reduced application size, as well as real page numbers.

With Kindle for Android 3.4.1, users will be able to track their progress with page numbers that are supposed to match with those of the printed book.

This feature is available on most titles in the Kindle store. The latest version of Kindle for Android is now available as a free download via Android Market.
