It can be seen listed in the Nokia Collection in the Windows Phone Store

Owners of Windows Phone 8-based Lumia smartphones can now find Kik Messenger available in the Nokia Collection section of the Windows Phone Store.

The application, made available for Windows Phone 7 a few years ago, hasn’t received official support for Windows Phone 8 devices as of now, but it seems that its developers might have changed something inside it after all.

At the moment, the software is listed as version 2.1.0.0, and has been so since February 2012. However, support for Windows Phone 8 is mentioned on its page in the Windows Phone Store.

As WPCentral notes, chances are that a full WP8 mobile client is coming soon, despite the fact that Kik said a few times before that they had no plans on releasing such an application (mainly due to OS’s lack of support for the WebKit standard).
