Three UK has just announced Samsung is now rolling out the long-awaited Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S II.

According to Samsung UK, the update is only available via Kies desktop software. Before attempting the update, users should make sure the phone’s battery is fully charged.

We also recommend Samsung Galaxy S II owners to back up their sensitive data, including contacts that are stored on the device.

Keep in mind that the upgrade from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean will leave Galaxy S II users short of 1GB of storage space.

Soon after the file is downloaded on the PC and the installation process completes successfully, Samsung Kies should restore the backed up content to the device. Make sure to check the “About phone” page to see if the update was successful.
