Unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress 2012, HTC One S is finally getting the long awaited Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update.

The phone was originally launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, but HTC promised the One S would be updated to Jelly Bean at some point this year.

With only a week left until the end of the year, the Taiwanese handset maker decided to start the rollout of the hotly-anticipated Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update.

The folks at XDA Developers report that the update is only available for the owners of international HTC One S units.

Carrier-branded HTC One S smartphones will receive the Jelly Bean upgrade in just a few weeks, so stay tuned for more info on this one.
