The handset will run under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform

A new Android smartphone powered by an Intel processor is set to land on shelves in India in the next few days, namely the Lava XOLO X500, which is now said to feature a price tag of INR 8,999 ($167 / €126) attached to it.

The handset will sport an Atom Lexington Z2420 chip inside, clocked in at 1.2GHz, while featuring a 3.5-inch screen on the front, capable of delivering a 480 x 320 pixels resolution.

The specs list of the new device includes Hyper-Threading Technology, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of external storage, and a 1500 mAh battery.

As gadgets.ndtv.com notes, the smartphone also sports a 5-megapixel auto focus photo snapper, as well as Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system loaded on top.
