Instagram for Android, the popular photo sharing application, has already seen over 50 million downloads in the Google Play Store.

The application arrived on Google’s Android mobile operating system only several months ago, but has enjoyed an impressive success among users.

Back in April, the service had around 30 million users, but now sits very well above the 100-million mark, as Facebook announced not too long ago. Apparently, half of these users own Android devices.

The application proved highly popular on this mobile OS ever since its release on April 3rd. It reached the first million downloads in about 24 hours, the company had announced at the time.

Those of you who haven’t had the chance to give Instagram a try can find the application available for download from Softpedia via this link.
