Instagram for Android became available for download roughly a day ago, and the application has already hit the 1 million downloads mark.

The app was put up in Google’s Play store, which reports over one million installs at the moment, thus confirming the success that most people were already expecting for it to enjoy.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the software was designed to allow users to easily apply filters on photos taken with their phone’s camera, while also permitting them to easily share these with their friends.

The application has over 30 million users on iOS, and over 430k people registered for it when Instagram announced its near availability on Android last week.

Instagram is compatible with all Android devices running under OS 2.2 and newer, and can be downloaded from Softpedia as well, via this link.
